Some possible efforts to transmit the Kathak dance form to younger generations and the wider community can be seen through local kathak performances as well as Kathak dance classes that are available to local Singaporeans. For the performances, there were a variety of events that took place at the esplanade by Singapore Indian Fine Arts Society of Indian Classical Music and Dance. In 2017, there was a particular dance called “Rachna- A creation in Kathak” which was a solo recital performed by Rajendra Gangani, one of the most brilliant exponents of the Indian classical dance form of Kathak today! (Esplanade, 2017) This was one way in which Singapore had brought the concept of kathak as an Indian dance form to its audiences through stages such as the esplanade.
